As we approach September, music education advocates need to know what is happening in both the federal budget process and ESSA state plan submissions. To this end, NAfME policy staff took an in-depth look into the federal appropriations and what it could mean for well-rounded programs and music education. The NAfME team also analyzed some key ESSA state plan submissions with the hopes of strengthening future plans for states who are reaching the deadline to submit their own.
