Dear Friends and Colleagues,
On behalf of your National Executive Board leadership team, it is our pleasure to formally invite you to register for the 2019 NAfME National Leadership Assembly.
We are planning an exciting meeting with significant time for your input on a variety of important Association topics of interest. This year’s Assembly will once again feature discussions by division, discussions by size of state, convenings of state Executives and Editors, and breakouts on the topics that drive our success. In addition, we will have two things of special importance this year:
- Presentations by potential candidates for NAfME President-Elect, and a vote by delegates to the National Assembly to determine the two individuals who will go before the membership as candidates.
- Discussion of, and data gathering for, a study that we are undertaking to determine our Association’s standing with regard to Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Access.
Each of us will have the opportunity to bring the music education advocacy message directly to congressional leaders during NAfME Hill Day 2019. This year, advocacy activities will take place on Wednesday, June 19, when delegates from state MEAs, representatives of the Music Education Policy Roundtable, and Collegiate members from across the country will visit Capitol Hill to advocate in support of music education. Please note that state leaders should designate an individual responsible for the scheduling of all Hill meetings by selecting “State Captain” during the registration process.
As in previous years, all National Assembly registrations will be handled through our online portal. Please take a few minutes to complete the registration process. You can do so here.
This year we have a change of venue, we will be staying at the Washington Hilton, 1919 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC, 20009. Click here to make hotel reservations. Remember that Wednesday, May 29, 2019, is the deadline to receive the group rate. Reservations must be made prior to that date.
We look forward to your attendance at the 2019 NAfME National Assembly!
