No state-wide music teacher assessment efforts. Anecdotal evidence about how evaluation is occurring in individual schools/districts:

• Teachers from one district that are using a written exam to assess student writing in all content areas, including music.  The student results will be used as part of the teacher evaluation.  They want a 5% increase in student writing.  The students were given a prompt this fall addressing something in music.  The teachers calibrated the student writing just earlier this month.  The same prompt will be given to the students in the spring.  They will be looking for a 5% increase in the student’s writing skills.
