Cory Micheel-Mays currently serves as the executive director of the Michigan Music Education Association (MMEA), a position he has held for the past 6 years. Cory taught in a variety of K-12 music classrooms during his 7 year tenure as an active music educator, most notably in the areas of secondary band/choir, elementary general music, jazz band and musical theater. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in music education in 1998. He is the chair of the Council of State Executives for the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the current chair of the Michigan Music Conference (MMC) and a board member for Michigan Youth Arts. Cory lives in Jackson, MI with his wife (Lindsey) & two sons (George & Henry), and enjoys playing golf & tackling home improvement projects.
