Republican presidential candidates are set to meet tonight for their sixth debate, and the first of the new year. The leading candidates debate will begin at 9:00 PM EST, while the undercard candidates are set for 6:00 PM EST. Tonight’s debates will be coming live from the North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center in Charleston, SC. Both debates will be televised by Fox Business Network and will be available online at FOXBusiness.com. The prime-time debate will be moderated by Fox Business Network’s Neil Cavuto and Mario Bartiromo, while Trish Regan and Sandra Smith will moderate the undercard debate.
The undercard debate will feature Carly Fiorina, Mike Huckabee, and Rick Santorum. Rand Paul has declined to participate in the undercard debate. Since the December Republican debate in Las Vegas, both George Pataki and Lindsey Graham have dropped out from the Presidential bid, who were undercard debate participants. In order to participate in the prime-time debate, candidates needed to finish in the top six in a national average of recent national polls, or finish in the top 5 in an average of polls in either Iowa or New Hampshire, a threshold determined by Fox Business Network.
Participants for the prime-time debate include Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Jeb Bush, and John Kasich.
