This is a bit abnormal, but not unheard of. In GA, euphoniums/baritones may audition for district and all-state band on BC or TC baritone. You can see that the state level MEA puts out the audition in both at

I think it’s generally accepted that if the student is serious about pursuing music on euphonium that they should learn bass cleff, but a trumpet switcher who just wants to audition for district (or even all-state) should be given the opportunity in my opinion. I’ve had several TC Euphoniums make district band.
