I teach this poem and have students listen for the words where I put a “strong” beat (1 and 3). Later they play instruments on the strong beats.
Old Mrs. Witch, Witch
Fell in a ditch, ditch
Picked up a penny, penny
Thought she was rich, rich

Then, I take out the reapeated words and change the strong-weak-strong-weak pattern to strong-weak-weak (triple meter), and they again play instruments on the strong beat. After that, they can compare the two. This all supplemented by listening and movement activities in the respective meters and is a unit, not a single lesson.
