heat is always a good loosener of glue so maybe some source of heat that can be applied locally (without being so hot as to scorch the wood) would work for you (hair dryer maybe?). I know luthiers have all kinds of tools for applying and removing glue to instruments (they usually use hide glue which I believe is water soluble) so you might look on something like http://www.stewmac.com/ and see if they have something, or any website that deals with violin construction and repair. The other solution might be to drill it out with an electric drill, but that might be tricky going through rubber . . .
