I’ve worked with both colleagues and administrators like that. If you can have a conversation with him about it (without being emotional or accusatory) and bring some of his invalidation to light, you could possibly get some relief. He might not be aware that what he is saying to you bothers you. But if you don’t think this is a possibility, stay away. He is affecting you probably more than you are aware, of and why do that to yourself by volunteering to communicate wit him?
