I am looking for anyone who is currently teaching concert band, wind ensemble, symphonic band in high school that has abandoned the traditional structure based upon competitions/contests. What creative and innovative practices are you doing in with your bands? Are you using Comprehensive Musicianship (CMP)? Are you using collaborative or student-centered approaches? How are your rehearsals and performances different? How has this impacted your students, parents, and community? I hope to read some great stories!
