My school has a special all-school unit between Thanksgiving and Christmas where we all study a common topic: this year the topic is architecture.

I’m trying to think of ways architecture could be represented in music. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Are you looking for pieces for your band to play? My first thought was “George Washington Bridge” by William Schuman. If you’re wanting to teach architecture through music, how about teaching form? You can liken ABA to a bridge (A’s are the shore line, B connects the two), etc. Then there’s this:

    Hope that helps!
