I’d love to leave some of the Bernstein concerts as videos for emergency sub plans. Does anyone know if there are worksheets or activity packs available anywhere to go along with these?
Oh absolutely there are. Here is a great book of reproducible worksheets: http://www.amazon.com/Young-Persons-Guide-Orchestra-Classroom/dp/1423410572/ref=sr_1_5?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1350687382&sr=1-5&keywords=young+person%27s+guide+to+the+orchestra
I have altered these a little because they are not very long; more text than questions. But you could make one side the worksheet and the other side your own fill-in-the-blanks. (Easy little word puzzles are great for sub work. I made one about instruments of the orchestra: I typed each instrument with missing letters. This for 4th – 6th graders is a little more than enough work for a sub lesson.)
