I am a general music teacher (K-6) and I am looking to start a “Mommy and Me” music type class at my church. I am looking at either using Musikgarten, Kindermusik, or John Feierabend’s First Steps in Music. This would require some training on my part as well. Any suggestions between these curriculums/programs? Any thoughts? Thank you for all of your help!

A colleague used to teach Kindermusik and loved it; very child-oriented. John Feierabend is great because he uses a wide variety of traditional songs and movement ideas. (I’m from CT where he lives and teaches, so I’m a little biased lol, but I have used his elementary resources with success.) I don’t know anything about Musikgarten.

Another great thing about John’s stuff is that you can by DVD’s that will show enough training to start. I will still advise going to see him in person, you will get so much more info than is on the DVD’s.
