Incorporating guitar into your curriculum is a great “hands on” opportunity for your students. Consider taking a NAfME sponsored Teaching Guitar Workshop this summer. It’s a great way to get 3 graduate credits. Workshops will be located from California to Maine. For more info and/or to register go to http://www.guitaredunet.org
This workshop is fabulous! Although I “played a couple of chords” going into it, I had no idea how to construct a curriculum with 5th and 6th graders. After the workshop, my students reaped the benefits of new insight, new materials, a scope and sequence, and a rejuvenated, more skilled general music teacher.
Patty, please spread the word to your fellow music teachers.
Will do, Glen!
