How often should I see my band?

I am working on my schedule for next year. Ideally, how many times a week should I be seeing my 7/8 band? How many times should I see my 6th grade band? What do you think about after-school band? What is the minimum in your opinion? Right now, I see everyone once a week, but do additional sectionals/lessons. Our blocks are 50 minutes, and I’m hoping to get that. However, they may only give me 30 🙁

Every day. Period. I would fight for that until you get it.

Beginners once a week is really tough to do. While I think it’s important for all groups to meet every day, I think it’s most important for beginners. They need consistency and repetition.

I’m mixed on after school band. Our top HS group meets after school once per week…but I don’t require that for the other bands. At the end of the day, you have to do what you can to make it work. We have the luxury of seeing our kids every day, so the after school stuff at the lower grades is minimal.

In my school we do twice a week after school each for 90 min. and I see kids from 5th grade to 8th once a week extra for about 40 min. (beginners and intermediate)

not enough but we make it work. if you can get minimum of 3 times that would be great.
