Who here does keyboards with their elementary students? I have a few electronic keyboards in my classroom, and I’d like to do a keyboard unit with my 5th graders. I have one keyboard for every 4 students, so I’m thinking half the class can partner up on keyboards and play, while the other half of the class can do worksheets of some sort to help them with notation and learning where all the notes are on the keyboard, etc. And then they switch. What I need to figure out is what kinds of things can I have them play on the keyboards, are there any good books or other resources to use, how do I encourage proper technique, all that stuff. Anyone with some success with this in the past?

Do you have Music Ace? Even if you only have one copy one group can be doing the lesson on piano, while the other group is on the pianos. What would be best is if you had enough copies and computers where each child had it on their own.
