LSA: Question About Figuring "Raw Score"

I recently read the article over Longitudinal Scale Assessments (LSA) in the September issue of Music Educators Journal (Volume 101, Number 1). I am implementing that system in my band classes, and I was wondering if anyone knew how the raw score was figured? It wasn’t in the article, and I’m ASSUMING it’s the improvement score+Goal Score, but I am not sure.
Can anyone help me?
After reading the article, I would make the same assumption as to how the raw score was figured. Unfortunately, I also am not one hundred percent positive about that, but I see no other way that they would have derived that number. Hopefully an assenting opinion is reassuring for you. Best of luck with this assessment method!
