    Hi Everyone,
I am a junior at the Eastman School of Music currently pursing a Music Education degree and Percussion Performance degree. I would like to pursue some sort of administrative degree in Grad school. The degree that seems most appropriate is an Education Administration degree. I plan to start out as a teacher at the elementary or middle school level but would eventually like to move to an administrative degree such as principal of a school or even fine arts director/coordinator of a school district. My goal in reaching this position would be to make as many positive changes in music programs as possible and help keep schools keep their fine art programs. I am not sure exactly what graduate degree to pursue in order to make this goal a reality. I have also noticed that a lot of these administrative grad programs require two years of full time experience. This would require finding a job and working for a while before applying for these programs. I would really appreciate any advice on what degree to pursue and whether I should apply for schools immediately or wait a few years. Thanks!
