My name is Tayler Bolling, and I am a senior music education major at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. I plan to graduate this December after I complete my intern teaching, and I am taking my praxis ii music content and knowledge test for the first time on May 21st. I am extremely worried about this test. I know quite a few peers that have graduated from the music education program at my college that have had to take the test multiple times before getting the score high enough to teach in Virginia. I have purchased study materials and have been preparing each day, but I still don’t feel that I know all that I should know for this test. I realize that each test is different and there are tons of different questions concerning different subjects that could be asked on the test. I would like to ask any of you that have taken the 0113 music content knowledge test what specific areas I should pay more attention to while studying for the test. Would any of you happen to know of any websites that provide practice tests? I have printed the music content knowledge praxis study guide available on the ETS website. What advice would any of you have for an undergrad student taking the test for the first time?
Thank you so much. I appreciate your help more than you will ever know.
