    Hi everybody,

I have a beginner band program. Our board graciously gave us 3 boxes of 25 reeds, and I’m grateful that they are doing that for us. But they have given us a 25 ct. box of 3 1/2 Ricos for clarinet and 3 1/2 and 4 Ricos for saxes. I am concerned that my students, who are true beginners, will struggle to be successful on these reeds, and I don’t want them to be frustrated. I am checking into opportunities to exchange them with members of my vertical team, but I might end up stuck with them. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to make these usable? Thanks!

Did they get them at a local music shop? If so, can you exchange them? You’re right- those are way too hard for beginners.

No such luck. None of the local shops will exchange boxes of 25. Looks like we’ll be getting the sandpaper. 🙂
