I was at a conference and saw a really useful item called a score order sorter. It was a desktop (real desktop – not computer desktop) alphabetical sorter with the letter tabs changed to band instruments in score order. The flute and clarinet tabs were at the beginning of the alphabet and the percussion tabs were at the end. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the presence of mind to buy it then and now can’t find one. I saw one in a catalog recently and don’t remember where I saw it.
Have any of you seen such a tool and if so, know where to buy one?
Is this what you are talking about?
No, nothing that extragant – it’s just an alphabetical sorter that can sit on a small desk or table with the letters changed to instruments in score order. It looks like a stack of 2 in wide cardboard strips cut at graduated lengths, so that the top ones are shortest and the bottom ones are longest. I think it originally cost between $35 and $50 if that.
Yes! Thank you!!! I Googled every key word I could imagine to find it and failed – I knew someonw here would know where to find it – Thank You!!!
