    Does your state include a sight singing component for adjudication at festival? Please report Yes or No and include your state.

    Georgia requires sight singing for LGPE

    Utah does not include sight singing for state festival. I have used it on a Region basis when I have been the host for my school. It is a profitable experience for students and teachers.

    Washington State does not require a sight singing component. However, Oregon does. I believe it would be an amazing component. I would love to see it happen.

    Florida requires sight-singing at the district level choral MPA. I teach middle school, and we can’t advance to state level. I don’t think the high school choirs that go on to the state level sight-sing there.

    Ohio requires sight-singing, and the examples match the difficulty to the class that you registered. Like this recent State Contest, the sight-singing example for class AA changed meters where the Class C didn’t. And the score of sight-singing carries the same weight of the scores received by the judges from the stage portion.
