    Howdy!

I’m looking for information regarding video submission by students. I would like to allow my students to submit playing test videos online as an alternative to taking them in person. I know that there are some obvious ways to do this (both YoutTube and Vimeo allow for Private Links), but I want to know who else might be doing this, and how they are doing it.

Privacy is obviously a concern, as well as ease of use.

Would love any feedback you might have.

    Thanks!

This is a great idea. I have had the best luck with YouTube – you can also have your students upload videos using Google Docs and then share them with you.

Youtube is a great way to do this, but I do know it can be a problem with privacy. For our non-profit, we have them on YouTube but with only Private Links, and from there put it on our own social page that every teacher has signed off on, but it seems far from ideal. I know some schools have a spot for individual classes where they can upload student work, but not sure the space requirements. Just a few thoughts, but it sure is important to figure out in this age where making a short video on a smart phone is so easy!

I’m also looking for a good way to do this.

The best strategy I have found so far is to use “Doctopus” to distribute and “Goobric” to grade google docs with the assignment contained within. These assignment pages contain links to Movenote, a video presentation website. Students need to create Movenote accounts and then paste the Movenote link into the google doc I shared with them.

Please share if you come up with other solutions!

This is an interesting topic. I have been interested in finding out more about using video submission for a while but have not been sure as where to look.

How would any of you be able to search for tampering/editing though? Most kids probably wouldn’t go as far to cheat like this but sadly some would try it.
