Tablet Computers

Do you use a tablet computer such as iPad or other brand in your class? How many do you have? Did you by it personally or use school funds to purchase it? How do you use it?

I have a “teacher ipad” that the school purchased for me. I use it mostly for grades and as a remote control to my speakers. I also use it to snap pictures of seating charts, group assignments, boomwhacker assignments, etc. I use it to video my lessons sometimes for my virtual portfolio as well. I also have a class set of 10 ipads for student use. I use these for garage band, MadPad (to explore timbre), Explain Everything (a GREAT assessment tool where the kids create presentations of them completing challenge cards), and then some small fun apps for reinforcing ideas.
