The affiliated organization relationship between the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) ended on July 1, 2021, but NAfME continues to believe that NAfME and Illinois music educators are stronger together, and we are delighted that many ILMEA members have asked how they can continue to be members of NAfME.
Active and retired members in Illinois, if you need to renew now or in the coming months to be able to access NAfME national benefits during the 2020-2021 school year, please consider joining any other state music education association (MEA) within the NAfME family of associations. In particular, our affiliated organizations in Indiana, Wisconsin, and Iowa welcome your participation over the next school year. (In addition to the benefits these MEAs offer, you might consider the MEA located geographically closest to you.)
NAfME remains fully committed to ensuring national representation of Illinois music educators. We appreciate your past membership in NAfME/ILMEA and your service to the music education profession. Please renew your NAfME membership today, and we look forward to serving you for another year and working together to advance music education nationwide.
Note: An announcement regarding NAfME Collegiate membership for Illinois-based students will be posted soon.
