2021 Call for Nominations for the JRME Editorial Committee

 

The Executive Committee of the Society for Research in Music Education seeks nominations for a vacancy on the Journal of Research in Music Education (JRME) Editorial Committee. 

Journal of Research in Music Education

Required Qualifications: SRME membership, a record of sustained research activity, and a commitment to serve in no more than one SRME-affiliated leadership post at one time. Desired Qualifications: an earned doctorate in music education or music, experience guiding graduate research projects, and continuing interest and involvement in research activity. Responsibilities: Provide thorough written reviews of manuscripts (approximately 2 to 4 per month) in a timely manner. Attend Editorial Committee meetings, usually in conjunction with biennial Music Research & Teacher Education National Conference.

The term of office will begin July 1 of 2021, for a period of 5 years. Retiring members of the SRME Executive Committee or the JRME or UPDATE Editorial Committees may not be reappointed to this body until 2 years have elapsed since the end of their terms. Someone who is nominated must be willing to resign from membership on the SRME Executive Committee or Update editorial board (if applicable).

All nominations must be submitted electronically with the subject: 2021 JRME Nomination. Send a nomination letter (labeled “JRME nomination.nominee’s last name”) and Curriculum Vitae (labeled “CV. nominee’s last name”) for each nominee as an attachment in Word (.doc or docx) or Portable Document Format (.pdf). Other formats will not be accepted. Self-nominations are acceptable. Submit nominations no later than April 1, 2021, to Carlos Abril, Chair, SRME Executive Committee, c.abril@miami.edu
