All-American Marching Band Prepares to Take the Field in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday

The 2012 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band (USAAAB) will perform the halftime show at the All-American Bowl, which will be played on Saturday, January 7, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

The band’s dress rehearsal will be webcast live on Friday, January 6, at 5:00 PM Central Time at banddirector.com. Watch the hafltime show online on Saturday at allamericangames.tv.

The game is at 12 PM CT, 1 PM ET, and will be broadcast on NBC. The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) is the official selection partner of the USAAAMB and partners with title sponsor, the U.S. Army, along with Drum Corps International and All-American Games for the annual event.

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is the premier high school football game in the nation and features America’s top high school senior football players and 125 senior marching musicians.

Marching band members have been rehearsing this week under the guidance of T. André Feagin, assistant professor of music, associate director of bands and director of athletic bands at the University of Texas at El Paso, and other elite marching instructors.

The USAAAMB Facebook website notes that a one hour preview show on the Bowl entitled, The U.S. Army All-American Bowl: A Tradition of Strength and Excellence, will be telecast on the NBC Sports Network (formerly Versus) at 4 PM CT, 5 PM ET on Friday, January 6. The telecast will include highlights of the week leading up to the bowl game, including preparations by the band.
