Be Part of the Music Aims to Enroll ONE MILLION Additional Students Annually in America’s School Music Programs

Chandler, Arizona, August 18, 2015 — Local music advocacy group Be Part of the Music aims to enroll an additional 1,000,000 children in America’s public school music programs annually.

Led by advocate Scott Lang, the innovative approach to changing our public schools is distributing free recruitment and retention materials to every teacher in America.

Based on the program Be Part of the Band (www.bepartoftheband.com), which increased enrollment in bands by 20%, the new program seeks to achieve similar successes in choir and orchestra.

Be Part of the Music has created free customizable recruitment and retention materials for all music school teachers, parents, and students. These materials are designed to communicate the importance of music in an effective and meaningful way for today’s media savvy students and parents.

Lang explains, “Music is the silver bullet that makes everything better. Students involved in music programs have higher test scores, higher academic performance, and lower drug and alcohol abuse levels, just to name a few benefits. In fact, I have yet to find a problem in schools that music doesn’t make better.”

The program is being proudly backed by industry leaders, Yamaha Corp, Jupiter Instruments, Fred J. Miller, French Woods Fine Arts Camp, and non-profit giants, National Association of Music Merchants, Music for All, American String Teachers Association, and the National Association for Music Education.
