In my initial semester as a business administration major specializing in music, I strategically enrolled in two music business courses: Foundations of Music Business and Strategic Music Entrepreneurship Development. The class composition, encompassing diverse creative genres, encouraged collaboration, reflecting in the lesson-planning geared towards fostering meaningful connections. Opportunities for networking were abundant, both within the confines of the course and beyond. Breaks became moments to strike up conversations with the videographer seated behind me or the beat-producing specialist to my left. Effectively navigating this delicate balance demands strategic time-management, meticulous planning, and a penchant for sociability. Yet, creatives worldwide successfully navigate this dynamic every day, prompting one to reflect and ask, “Why can’t you?”
