Busy Week as 2013 Marching Band All-Americans Prepare for American Bowl in San Antonio

 Nancy E. Ditmer, president of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), presents a NAfME pin to Col. Timothy J. Holton, commander and conductor of the United States Army Field Band. Army Field Band members work with the student musicans preparing for the halftime performance in San Antonio on Saturday, Jan. 5.

 

 Breaking into sections, members of the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band rehearsed their halftime performance at Benson Stadium in San Antonio this. The dress rehearsal on Friday, Jan. 4, and the Army All-American Bowl and half-time performance will take place during the All-American Bowl at the Alamodome on Saturday, January 5.

On behalf of NAfME, President Nancy E. Ditmer presented the 2013 Army All-American Marching Band National Band Director of the Year to Jay Wardeska of Brunswick, Ohio.

 

All-American Musicians and football players and their family members, Army representatives, and NAfME leaders, attended a barbecue dinner at the Alamodome on Thursday night. During the barbecue, Wardeska had a chance to talk with his student Vinh Trinh, a clarinet player in the 2013 USAAAMB.
