Chamberlin Receives Harley Service Award

Victoria Chamberlin receives the First Harley Service Award from Patrick Barnett

Victoria Chamberlin, NAfME Director of Program Development was honored at the National Association for Music Education’s Northwest Division Conference in Portland, Oregon on February 15, 2013.  Chamberlin is the Program Manager for the Tri-M Music Honor Society.  She will soon leave her position to begin serving the United States of America as a member of the 8th Division US Army Band stationed in South Korea.  Patrick Barnett, National Tri-M Chair created the Harley Service Award as a way to recognize individuals who have made a significant contribution to advancing the goals, aims and missions of the society.  We congratulate and thank Victoria on a job well done and wish her well in her new endeavors.

The Harley Service Award is named in honor of Tri-M Music Honorary Society’s founders, Alexander and Frances Harley.  The Harley’s tirelessly promoted and managed the Modern Music Masters (the former name of the society) between 1936 and 1983.  Their work has brought a dream of a national music honor society to fruition.  At present, there are over 6,200 chartered chapters around the world.
