DeVos Confirmation Hearing Tuesday, January 17th at 5pm

Pursuant to its “advice and consent” powers granted in Article II of the US Constitution, the Senate will hold its confirmation hearing on President-Elect Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos.

The Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) will hold the hearing this Tuesday, January 17th at 5PM in room 430 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.  The Senate HELP Committee will stream the hearing live at:

You Tube and C-SPAN will also stream the event live. Additionally, cable news channels have been televising portions of all Senate confirmation hearings.   

Last week, NAfME sent a memorandum to President-Elect Donald Trump and Secretary-Desginate DeVos outlining policy proposals important to music education advocates.  

NAfME staff plans to attend the hearing and provide detailed analysis after.
