About the Event

New to piano or looking to refresh your skills? In this webinar, attendees will have the opportunity to explore basic piano skills that all K-12 music educators should be able to utilize in the classroom. Whether it’s general music, choral, orchestra/band, music theory, or a keyboard lab class, music educators will learn a set of keyboard skills that will enhance their teaching and enable them to work with a wider range of learners and learning styles. No piano needed; this webinar will give you tips for practicing these skills on your own time and using them with your own music students.

Leonidas Lagrimas is Assistant Professor of Piano and Piano Pedagogy for the Western Carolina University School of Music. Active as musical theatre pianist, conductor, and music director, he has extensive experience as a choral and church accompanist. He holds a Ph.D. in Piano Pedagogy/Music Education from Florida State University. Prior to his doctoral studies he taught K-12 music in the New York City public schools for ten years.
