Pop Music Concepts in the Classroom

Join us for “Our Classrooms Are Poppin’ Too: Musical Connections with a Pop Tune Twist”! You will create real-world connections between your students’ popular music and core music standards in their classrooms. By participating in the activities, watching dances, and gaining new resources, you’ll be able to utilize the pop music of our students while supporting the preparation, presentation, and practice of musical concepts. The session is a continuation of the POPular session presented at MMC with additional songs and activities that are accessible for students Kindergarten through 6th Grade.

MMEA Online PD are one hour online sessions on a variety of topics. Offered via Zoom, MMEA Online PD sessions are one hour in length and cover a variety of topics. 1 SCECH is available for each session. Registration cost is $5.00 for MMEA members, $10.00 for non-members. All sessions are free for any college or university student. Zoom links will be emailed to attendees prior to each event.
