GOP Debate Before New Hampshire!

Tonight, Republicans will host a debate prior to the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday, February 9. The debate will air at 8:00 PM EST on ABC and will take place at St. Anselm College’s Institute of Politics, in Manchester, New Hampshire. It will also be streamed on ABCNews.go.com. “World News Tonight” anchor, David Muir, and Chief Global Affairs Correspondent, Martha Raddatz, will be moderating the debate.  Republican candidates participating in the debate will include:

  • Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush
  • Retired Neurosurgeon Ben Carson
  • New Jersey Governor Chris Christie
  • U.S. Senator of Texas Ted Cruz
  • U.S. Senator of Florida Marco Rubio
  • Businessman Donald Trump
  • Ohio Governor John Kasich

Who is Left Out?

Carly Fiorina and Jim Gilmore will not be participating in the debate, based on ABC’s criteria, which needed participants to either place top three in Iowa, place among the top six in an average of national polls, or the top six of New Hampshire polls. ABC has also eliminated the undercard debate.  Since Iowa, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, and former Senator of Pennsylvania Rick Santorum, have dropped out of the presidential bid. Of the three, only Rick Santorum has endorsed a remaining candidate (Marco Rubio).
