Jackson, Tennessee Tri-M Chapter 4644 Holds Benefit Concert

The University School of Jackson, Jackson, TN, Senior Chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society is passionate about service.  Our chapter, which includes approximately 70 members, held a benefit concert for the Mid-South Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation ® .  We collaborated with the Visual Art department’s annual fashion show, featuring fashion made out of recyclable materials, and auditioned the student body to select performers.  We were privileged to have performances including vocal, piano, guitar, and dance numbers.

The benefit concert collected donations exceeding $1,100 for the Mid-South children’s wishes specifically associated with music.  This event reinforced the purpose of the Tri-M Music Honor Society: to inspire music participation, to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, and to promote leadership in music.  The USJ Senior Tri-M Chapter officers are President: Ryan Sanderson; Vice-President: Bailey Howell; Secretary: Sally Sikes; Treasurer: Caroline Purcell; Chaplains: Angelica Marks and Chris Weiner; Historian: Lindsay Smith.  Chapter Sponsor is Mrs. Dian Eddleman, President of Tennessee Music Education Association and Choral Director at USJ.

Respectfully submitted,

Lindsay Smith
