From Olathe, Kansas, to New Lenox, Illinois, to Thousand Oaks, California, the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band Selection tour is underway. At student assemblies and other local celebrations, students are getting the royal treatment: television and newspaper interviews and accolades from teachers and fellow students.
Jason Jakary, Salem High School, Plymouth, Michigan, was named to the 2012 USAAAMB during the Selection Tour.
Follow the tour’s progress on the USAAAMB Facebook page, where past bandmembers, their families and others also are sending congratulations as students are selected. Watch videos and read newspaper articles that also are posted on the site.
The bowl will be played on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, and will air Live on NBC at 1 PM EST. NAfME is the official selection partner of the USAAAMB and partners with title sponsor, the U.S. Army, along with Drum Corps International and All-American Games.
Seniors who are chosen for the band exhibit exceptional musicianship, marching achievement, character, and leadership. The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is the premier high school football game in the nation and features America’s top high school senior football players and marching musicians.
