Dr. Aaron Lohmeyer is Assistant Professor of Music Education at Winona State University. He received his B.A. Davidson College, M.M. in Saxophone Performance from Florida State University and both his M.Ed and Ph.D. in Music Education from Florida State University. At Winona State University, Dr. Lohmeyer directs the jazz program, coordinates the music education degree, and facilitates numerous artist residencies and masterclasses across a diverse range of musical practices. Lohmeyer also teaches recorder for the Florida State University Orff courses.

His pedagogy and research interests were formed through teaching experiences in K-12 concert band, global percussion, guitar, jazz band, adaptive music, and creative composition. He has presented at state and national conferences on topics related to creativity, improvisation, and diverse literacies. His publications can be found in Psychology of Music, The Orff Echo, String Notes, General Music Today, and the Florida Music Director.
