Amanda Sproul is the Director of Band and Orchestra at Stockdale High School in Bakersfield, California. Prior to teaching in the Kern High School District, Mrs. Sproul taught K-8 vocal and instrumental music. In her nineteenth year of education, Mrs. Sproul serves as the Stockdale High School VAPA Department Chair, Kern County Solo and Ensemble Chairperson, KCMEA Treasurer, Stockdale National Honor Society Advisor and as a board member for the Bakersfield Youth Symphony.

Mrs. Sproul holds a BA in Music from California State University of Bakersfield, and an MA in Administrative Services from Fresno Pacific University. She has been recognized by the Kern County Music Educators Association as Band Educator of the Year as well as Music Educator of the Year. In 2020, Mrs. Sproul was awarded the CMEA Outstanding Music Educator Award for the California Central Section. Mrs. Sproul is passionate about mentoring new music educators in Kern County and advocating for music education for all children.
Mrs. Sproul loves spending time with her family, traveling, and being a “band mom” to her two wonderful children. (2025)
