Andrew S. Paney, Professor of Music, is a dedicated researcher and educator specializing in elementary music methods at the University of Mississippi. He has taught in elementary and middle schools in Illinois and Texas and currently directs the Oxford Children’s Chorus. Andrew’s research focuses on aural skills instruction, the integration of technology in music education, and effective strategies for teaching music in primary schools. His scholarly work has been featured in esteemed journals, including the Journal of Research in Music Education, Journal of Music Teacher Education, Psychology of Music, Update: Applications of Research in Music Education, and the International Journal of Music Education.

Dr. Paney is passionate about music literacy and frequently presents on music reading and writing at various conferences and workshops. His leadership roles include serving as President of the Southern Division of the Organization of American Kodály Educators, President of Kodály Mississippi, and a member of the editorial board for the Kodály Envoy. Through his collaborative approach, Andrew is committed to enhancing music education and fostering a love for music in young learners.
