Brian Beggs has been teaching music at Title 1 public schools in California for his whole career, including 17 years at the middle school level.

Over his career, Brian has been a strong advocate for increasing access to music education for all students, which includes building music programs that include non-traditional music classes in addition to traditional music ensembles.

At the middle school level, Brian has taught concert band, jazz band, string orchestra, choir, musical theater, music appreciation, steelpans, and ukulele.

Brian served on the California Music Educators Association’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access Committee in 2021 and led a session at the CMEA Bay Section Winter Conference in 2023 about the benefits of adding music appreciation/general music classes to secondary school music programs.

Brian received degrees in music from Humboldt State University (BA) and the University of Florida (MMME).
