Chris Reynolds is in his 32nd year in education and currently serves as the Fine Arts Coordinator for Topeka Public Schools, overseeing music, theater, and visual arts programs for more than 13,000 students. Throughout his career, Mr. Reynolds has taught instrumental music and education courses at the elementary through collegiate levels. Under his leadership, Topeka Public Schools has been recognized as a Best Community for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation and as a Premier Communities for Theatre Education district by the Educational Theatre Association.
Mr. Reynolds earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Washburn University, a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Emporia State University. He is an active member of the Kansas Music Educators Association, the National Association for Music Education, and Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity. In 2019, Mr. Reynolds retired after 30 years of service with the 312th U.S. Army Band in Lawrence, Kansas, where he served in administrative, logistic, and planning roles, as well as serving as a trombonist and musical leader.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. Reynolds enjoys spending time with his wife Heather and their dog Rory, four children, and five grandchildren. His personal interests include riding motorcycles, traveling, and snorkeling/scuba diving.
