Heather Blackwell is a proud public school teacher and serves as the Vocal Music Teacher at Holman Middle School in the Pattonville School District (Saint Ann, MO). She holds a Bachelor of Choral Music Education from Webster University in St. Louis, MO (2018) and a Master of Music Education from the University of Missouri – Kansas City in Kansas City, MO (2022) where she studied with Drs. Stuart Chapman Hill, Patti Ruff Riggle, Trent A. Patterson, Lani Hamilton, and Charles Robinson. She is active as a choir member and has performed with a number of choirs including the Queen City Chorale, Missouri Choral Artists, and the STL Weekend Choir, which she co-founded. She routinely adjudicates district and all-state choir and vocal jazz auditions. She conducted her first district choir in 2023, where she was the conductor for the inaugural Illinois District 6 Treble Vocal Jazz ensemble. She is also heavily involved with the Missouri Choral Directors Association where she is the coordinator for the 11-12 Festival Chorus. Heather lives in Florissant, Missouri with her husband Sean and their cat Paisley.
