Jared Tanner is in his 12th year at Liberty High School in Renton, Washington where he teaches concert band, jazz band, and guitar classes. Jared is a multifaceted musician and teacher whose passions include classical brass performance, student leadership, improvisation, jazz, guitar, and pop music education. Along with serving a strong band program, Jared is committed to growing the guitar and pop music offerings at Liberty High School where there are often 60 guitar students each semester. Jared was awarded Outstanding Music Educator by the Eastshore Music Region in 2022 and Outstanding Educator by the Liberty High School PTSA in 2017. Jared regularly plays trumpet with Seattle area orchestras and jazz ensembles and he recently produced music for local TV shows. Jared Tanner holds an M.M. in Trumpet Performance from Boston University, a Postbaccalaureate in Music Education from the University of Washington, and a B.M. in Trumpet Performance from the University of Puget Sound.
