Julie M Song is a visiting assistant professor of music education at the University of North Florida where she teaches undergraduate and graduate music education courses related to elementary methods, secondary choral methods, and research methods. She also supervises field experience students and student teachers. In addition to teaching at UNF, she is currently directing a Cantata Community Adult Choir in Jacksonville Children’ Choir and serves as a clinician in the Jacksonville area. Dr. Song’s scholarly and research interests include reducing the gap between theory and practice, as well as diversity in music education. She has published in Update: Applications of Research in Music Education, and she has presented her work at international, national, and regional conferences. Dr. Song is a member of NAfME, SMTE, FMEA, and ISME.
