Lance Jones is a music educator at West Branch Area School District, where he teaches grades 5-12 instrumental music, eighth-grade general music, high school music electives, and serves as the high school arts department chair.  He is the recipient of the West Branch Outstanding Warrior Award for Excellence in Teaching.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Lance hosts The Backwoods Bandroom, a podcast dedicated to celebrating music in small schools.  Jones is a member of PMEA, has served as a Professional Development Chair and on NAfME’s Small School Initiative Task Force.  Mr. Jones holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. He most recently earned an Advanced Certificate in Wind Conducting from Messiah University, where he also earned his M.M. in Wind Conducting.
