Maud Hickey retired from Northwestern University after 22 years working as an Associate Professor in music education. Previous to her University work, she was a high school band director. She is the author of the book Music Outside the Lines: Ideas for Composing in K-12 Music Classrooms. In her retirement she enjoys substitute teaching and golfing.
