Rachael Sanguinetti is a passionate educator, researcher, and performer. She currently serves as an assistant professor and the program director of graduate music education at Immaculata University in Immaculata, PA. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the Eastman School of Music – University of Rochester in 2015 and master’s degree at Ithaca College in 2018. Rachael completed a PhD in Music Education in March of 2026 at the Eastman School of Music – University of Rochester. Her dissertation explored why secondary general music teachers choose to use modern band in their teaching practice.
Rachael has traveled the world presenting at conferences and leading workshops on topics related to student-centered instruction, teacher self-care, popular music education, and culturally responsive practices. She has completed research studies on popular music practices in the K-12 classroom, student-centered instruction, and culturally responsive practices. She also maintains an active performance career as a soprano, performing across the northeast in musical theatre, opera productions, and in recording sessions. She loves working with students of all ages as they pursue their musical interests and make music with others.
