Rachel is an Assistant Professor of Music Education at James Madison University. Rachel has over fifteen years of experience teaching elementary general and choral music. Her research interests, while varied, are centered on teaching music to students with disabilities.

Rachel has been published in the Journal of General Music EducationJournal of Music Teacher Education, Arts Education Policy Review, Music Educators Journal, Qualitative Research in Music Education, Research Studies in Music Education, and the International Journal of Music Education. Rachel is fully certified in Feierabend, Kodály, Orff, and holds GIML Elementary I and II certificates. She lives with her husband and two children in Harrisonburg, VA.
