Sara K. Jones is Director of Music Education and Associate Professor at DePaul University where she teaches undergraduate and graduate music education courses, and serves as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advocate for the School of Music. Dr. Jones’s scholarly and research interests include curricular approaches in the music classroom, music education for students with disabilities, and music teacher education. Her publications appear in Update: Applications of Research in Music Education, Music Educators Journal, Music Education Research, and the Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education. She has presented her research nationally and internationally. As a public school teacher, Dr. Jones taught band in elementary, middle school, and high school settings. She holds professional memberships in the National Association for Music Education, the Illinois Music Educators Association, and the Society for Music Teacher Education.
